Wayne Gould

Wayne was born and raised in Albury and has been a swimmer and water polo player for most of his life. He continues to swim most days and plays water polo with local club, Sharks. Wayne and his family enjoyed life near the beach for a few years in Shellharbour but returned to Albury so he could give up concreting to build and operate our Swim Academy. Wayne maintains the water quality and equipment as well as opening the pool in the early hours. He is also head coach at Albury Swim Club and is enjoying seeing the progress of many Academy swimmers to the Swim Club. Wayne’s five children, Shannon, Kristy, Carly, Jaime and Ashleigh also play water polo and have been keen swimmers, sharing the Gould love of water. Wayne is a part-owner and director of the Academy.

Kristy Hogan

Kristy grew up in Howlong before moving to Albury closer to the sporting arenas. She grew up swimming and playing water polo and still plays with local club, Pool Pirates. She has been a swimmer all her life and now calls on this life skill in the triathlons she competes in. Kristy has represented Australian Country Water Polo on several occasions travelling to such locations as Hawaii to compete. Kristy has travelled overseas and lived away from Albury during her adult years however returned to commence our Academy. Her two children, Deacon and Ryleigh, now compete in swimming carnivals and play water polo. As a teenager, Kristy taught swimming at the Albury Swim Centre and has made it her career since 2005. Kristy also has swim coaching qualifications and was assistant coach at Albury Swim Club for a couple of years prior to our Academy opening. Kristy has created our swim program that all classes follow at the Academy and is a part-owner and director of the business.

Janine Gould

Janine was born and raised in Rutherglen and moved to Albury following the completion of high school. Whilst Janine knows how to swim, she chooses not to swim nor play water polo! Hockey is Janine’s sport of choice, having played since her teenage years. Janine has been very involved in water polo with participation on committees and managing teams. Now that their two daughters, Jaime and Ashleigh, have left home Janine and Wayne enjoy watching the grandchildren compete. Janine has worked in administration previously and is also qualified in Community Services and has worked in the mental health sector. Janine is a part-owner of the business.

Tom Hogan

Tom was born and raised in Canada and travelled to Australia with Kristy when she returned from her venture overseas. After the past decade living in Australia, Tom is now a naturalised citizen. Tom is a chef, like his father, and now is Assistant Catering Manager at Charles Sturt University. He has worked previously with the Hog’s Breath chain and is pretty handy at family barbecues! Tom also plays water polo for the local club, Sharks, and has previously served as the Secretary for the Association. He also enjoys live bands, V8 Supercars, particularly Bathurst, and of course, ice hockey. Tom values his family life, particularly enjoying most afternoons with children, Deacon and Ryleigh. Tom is a part-owner of the business.

Together our family has enjoyed the challenge of planning, building and working in our business. We are excited, a little overwhelmed and very appreciative that the community has responded so favourably to our Academy. We pride ourselves on family values, offering a clean and friendly environment for you and your children. Most importantly, we value the opportunity to instruct children in the life-saving skill of swimming. Being surrounded by the Murray River, Hume Dam, rural properties and backyard pools, we hope that we are able to make a difference in your child’s life and give you some peace of mind.
